Event Description

Ride Guide.doc

17th June will be a 100km route which will is reasonably flat - only really one hill back over pilgrims way.  A little bit of it is on busier roads, so make sure you feel comfortable with them. Pacing will be quicker, but not break-neck speed.

The route can be found here - http://maps.google.com/maps?q=http://www.trainingpeaks.com/sw/kml/X...

Any questions please ask.

Thanks!

Hey Claire - no problem.

I recommend Continental Gatorskins or GP4000s. Neither of them are cheap (£30+ a tyre) but they're worth it. I put a fresh pair of Gatorskins on my training/commuting bike in December and haven't punctured on them yet (touch wood).

Thanks Lee for leading the ride this morning, and helping to fix my puncture! What were the hard wearing tyres you recommended as if I'm going to replace them it's probably worth getting something that will last?

Hey! Agree with Claire!

See you on Sunday!

P.S. Sorry to hear about your knee Lee.

Cool - we'll plan to do a 60km then instead of the longer loop. For those that still want the 100km route - just let me know and i'll send it over.

Sorry to hear about your knee injury lee. 60km at normal ( am assuming about 15-17 mph) works for me. Weather forecast for Sunday is looking ok too!

I was a bit wary of the pace too so wouldn't mind something shorter at group pace but happy to go with the majority.

Hey Elkie, I am having knee injury issues so I won't be able to manage the 100km at all, let alone at pace.

If you guys still want to do the long ride, I'll give you the maps etc and you can make your own way out and back. Otherwise, I can lead something circa 60km at the usual group pace.

If you can all let me know your preference we can come to an arrangement.

Thanks.
