Does anyone know where I can buy some arm coolers from?  None of the brands seem to sell in the UK any more (not really surprising I guess!) and I think that I am really going to need some for Vegas 70.3.  The temperature is currently 42C and will probably be about 37C on race day. I am pretty scared!

From what I have read they seem to do a really good job of helping keep you cool, especially the ones with Xylitol in (yep the same stuff as gum!).  Best brands seem to be DeSoto and Zoot.

Failing this, does anyone have a small pair I can borrow?

Also, does anyone have any other tips for racing in this kind of crazy heat?

Ice in a sun-visor on the run.

Camelbak podium thermos bottles will keep fluid cold too.

Unfortunately I don't have L/XL arms....  I have managed to find some craft ones online though...would have preferred Zoot.

Good tip on the bottle.  Do they fit in bike cages?

I didnt even look at sizes - sorry.

The bottles are just normal sized ones with an internal liner that keep you drinks cooler for longer - fit inside normal cages.

These Coolpoints look fairly practical although you just hold them in your palms

Make sure you don't just drink plain water otherwise you ll dilute the electrolytes in your body - this can actually be dangerous in extreme cases. You could take some nuun type tablets to drop into water but the organisers might be providing drinks that replace lost sodium etc?
