Bike Box

Hi All

I am off to do IM South Africa in a couple of weeks and am in need of a bike box for the trip. I'm hoping that someone would like to either loan me one or rent it to me at a very reasonable cost. If you haven't been to SA at least you will be able to say your Bike Box has.

I go to SA every year and still enjoy it so there's no reason your bike box won't have as good a time as before!!

We are leaving on the 14 March and get back on the 25 April. A long time i know, but we have 2 weddings at the beginning and then IM on 22 April. Hopefully that works for you. It would be very much appreciated. 

Laura i'm just trying to picture Charles on your bike!!

Might be able to help, depending on when James gets back. The only issue is that we need it for mid May.

Don't worry I have two bikes out in SA, so it was for Laura to ride her own bike in the 94.7.

I have to admit I am super jealous of your trip, only problem is it will start getting cooler...

Yes i am a bit worried about the weather for end of April. March in PE is good but mid April onwards can be quite varied. The one thing that can be guaranteed in PE is the wind though. The only question is how hard it will blow!!!

Cool, if you can help me out it would be great. Obviously i would bring it back to you as soon as i get back on the 25th. So, well in time for May.

I wish i had a bike out there. Really not looking forward to the trip with 3 suitcases, 1 car seat, 1 pushchair and 1 bicycle.

Yeah, Charles riding with his knees in his armpits would be funny!!  

BikeBox Alan is a really good bet for travelling with a bike I think.  Although its about as easy to steer as a shopping trolly!! If you damage/break the box you have to pay for it though ;-p

James Raffle has the box and is back on Sunday so you can pick it up from him. If you friend Charles and then message him with your mobile number then he can give you James one so you can arrange it.
