As I'm sure you all know, Windursh Tri Club is run by a group of volunteer members who make up the committee. As for who is who you can click on the Committee tab under the 'Home' dropdown menu to see what roles there are and who currently fills them, as well as a brief description of the job.
In the autumn we will hold our AGM where we will elect new people into the committee. WIthout people in the committee the club will cease to function, so it is vital for all of us that you think about putting something back. The committee needs to be fairly large as there is a lot to do, and many hands make light work, reducing the load on any one person.
Committee positions take up varying amounts of time per month from a couple of hours to 15 or so and depending on the time of year. We hold committee meetings each month to make sure we are on track with all of our goals to make the club the best we can. The current team have done an absolutely amazing job this year, and I would not like their efforts to go unnoticed!! If you would like to take up a committee position this autumn, I would urge you to speak either to me or others in the committee to see what the role involves and hopefully persuade you to get involved!!
Being part of the club committee is extremely rewarding and really gives you a sense of ownership of how the club is run, and what direction we take it in. We decide everything from when/what and where for training sessions, to kit, training camp, Aquathlon, website, sponsorship, club finances and membership, as well as liaising with the BTF and funding bodies.
