Hi all - we were quite lucky in January with the weather - maybe I shouldn't have said that?

Anyway February's bike rides are all leaving from outside Brockwell Lido at 9am on Sundays.

Before coming on the rides please familiarise yourself with the club guidance attached.

February 5th

60-70 kms fast ride out round Biggen Hill led by Lee Randle. As a guide the aim is to finish this ride in not too much more than two hours - and there are some hills - so you need to be fit.

February 12th

Longer ride (around 110km) which I am going to leading at a steady but not slow pace. There will be a brief coffee stop at about half way.

I'll post the actual route before the ride but basically it will go out round Lingfield, to Edenbridge then back into London via Hever. Again there are some hills involved but if you are reasonably fit you should be able to cope but bear in mind the distance involved.

February 19th

Claire Summers is leading a ride to Richmond Park. When at the Park it will be up to you how fast and how many laps you do. But the ride to and back from the park will be at the pace of the slowest rider so it is suitable for all.

February 26th

As a few of us are entered for the Hell of the Ashdown ride there is no club ride currently planned for this date but of course if you want to suggest one feel free to post one on the Forum

Happy to answer any questions

Tony

Doing a great job guys.  Looking forward to these rides

Cheers Laura.

If anyone else has any feedback so far about the Sunday rides (duration, frequency, pace, scheduling etc) please do let us know. We are trying our best to cater for everyone as often as we can, but appreciate that we might not get it right all the time. We're all ears.

I can't do this weekend, but I'd like to try to come along on 12th Feb. Any idea what time we'll finish?

Claire

Assuming a 9am start, its likely to be about 2/3pm including stopping for cake.

Bringing this back to the front page.

All, hope you all had a nice morning on the turbo (I think we may have been led into a false sense of winter during early Jan).

I have a confession to make: I am supposed to be taking the ride next Sunday (19th), however my mate has just scored me a ticket to the Sunday morning proceedings at the World Track Champs at the Olympic Velodrome on that morning. I have taken the ticket... if anybody would be willing/able to run the ride next week in my place I would be very grateful! Cheers, Claire

I am still keen for the ride to Richmond Park this Sunday, but I am no good at directions. Anyone with an idea of the route keen to meet at Brockwell Park, as Claire cannot make it? Looks like it's going to be a sunny Sunday, so would be great to be out on the bike :)

Sorry Donne, I am off to do a half marathon on Sunday.  I hope you find someone

No worries, I am sure we will. Good luck for the run! :)

Hey Donne,

I think Giles expressed an interest in going...he might know the way. I may be there, but since I've not got around to buying a bike yet, I'll drive n' hire...(so of no use to you, basically)

Yep, looks like Giles is up for it and a few others. We will meet you at Richmond Park. Not sure on a time, just depends whether we get lost or not :)

I'm up for a ride on sunday, see you at the Lido at 9am!
