Hi all,

I just recently joined and came down on Monday night for the running session which j really enjoyed.

Is anybody racing next weekend in the Hever? It's my last triathlon of the season and my training partner has now left the country! I have no idea how I'm going to get there on time as all of the accommodation is miles away and I don't have a car!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Jo

Hi Jo - Welcome to the club!!  I'm glad you enjoyed your first session.

I think about 6-8 of our members are racing at Hever, so hopefully one will come back to you on this if they can offer you a lift.  Alternatively people have been hiring streetcars to get to events, if you could do this with someone else who is racing it would reduce the cost.

Most people camp at Hever.

Good facilities and means no faffing to get to the start.

Hi both,

Thanks for getting back.  That's brilliant to hear that there'll be other members going down.  So camping is the best option - if there is anyone who has space to share a lift or is planning to rent a street car?  I'd obviously be happy to split cost.

Hi Jo,
Welcome to the club! I'm also doing Hever castle as my last race of the season on Sunday 25. I was actually thinking of going there by train on the morning of the race - though I'd happily camp there if other Windrushers are; could be fun! I'm out of the country until this weekend, so haven't given much thought to the logistics of it all. At what time are you due to start your race?
Cheers mate

Hi Frank,

Cool it's my last race too.

I am racing at 8am so I was thinking of getting down the night before.  Not sure what the best logistics are though!

Hi Jo,

Ive just recently joined the club too and Im also doing Hever. Im driving down but only have a Mini and we can only take two bikes on the back and are full up sorry. It'd be great to see a friendly face on the day though - Im on at 9am.

I emailed the organisers about staying the night before and they said that the best option was to camp on site.

Good luck in the race and hopefully see you on the day.

Liz

Cool,

Well I will be there somehow!  I am going to camp I think, although I haven't booked a spot and their is a list on the website!

Frank, have you had any other thoughts on how you're getting down?  I am going to get the train on Saturday as long as they will accept my bike!

Jo

Hi Jo,

I tried to email you directly, but you have to be "friend" on the site before you can converse directly; you probably have an email from me on this.

I am also planning on going by train the evening before. Do you know if we can still book a space on the camp site?

Cheers

Hi Frank,

Sorry can't find that email.

I'll email the organisers about the tent.  I've just looked into a street car as well, according to the website it will cost £75 quid to hire a car (including 20 miles of petrol).  We could drive down in the morning?  What do you reckon?

Jo

I'm up for that

You ok to drive?

You could always cycle down. It's a lovely ride  ; )

and then race... lovely thought!
