We found this helpful: pdf map of the route
Key for me was grasping the 'Boxhill loop' is an awful lot longer than the ticketed area, so there will actually be nine opportunities to jump up and down and be silly over quite a chunk of Surrey. As I understand it, cycles on trains are problematic tomorrow - because of the numbers travelling down - but some of the stations are really very close to the loop (Betchworth, for example). Or maybe cycle down. Just thought it might be worth a mention.

Permalink Reply by Tony Macpherson on July 27, 2012 at 17:37 There's a bunch riding up from Brighton - I'm 70% going but have had a really busy week and it's only 6 days after Ironman UK too so not sure I fancy another 80+ miles just yet!
I would have thought they'd be a fair few 'rushers going along?
Box Hill is the place to be - is this a ticketed or roads closed area - can't think of too many places to watch from apart from the cafe at the top!

Permalink Reply by Andy B on July 27, 2012 at 17:45 Hi Tony, the pdf linked to in the top post shows the Box Hill climb itself is ticketed. The 'Box Hill loop', however, extends for several miles (on the flat) around the climb - see the dotted line. They'll obviously be travelling at quite a speed on the flat but at least they'll come around nine times.
