Some of you may already have heard about the 100 mile mass cycle race that is being organised for next August. It's called Ride London 100, will be on 4th August 2013 and will start and end at the Olympic Park and go out to Surrey following the Olympic Road Race route.

They're expecting a huge number of entries (about 75,000 apparently) and there are 20,000 places available. You can register now and it's a ballot system, just like the London Marathon.

I've registered and will keep fingers crossed! It would be great to get a group of Windrushers together...

Thanks for this Sarah - my name has been put in the hat

Thanks! That'll be some peloton.

Did anyone else get a place in this? I didn't but one of my colleagues has. He can't do it so has offered it to me. Result.

I got a place :-))

I got a place too!

Me too!

I missed out in the ballot and charities want 750 raised so may have to miss this entirely. - if anyone drops out........

Phtt! Three out of three so far this year: I couldn't win a ballot to be Oscar's new girlfriend.

I have a place too. We'll just get sucked along by this great swirling mass of cycling humanity!

I have a spare place for this ride on 4 August (my brother-in-law's) and it would be great to offer it to a fellow Windrusher.  First come first served seems a bit unfair so anyone interested please post on here before midday Monday 17 June and I promise to carry out a fair draw and post the result on here straight after.

Officially these places are not transferable, it is a male place, I have no idea if it would cause a problem if a female turned up with a "male" number.  I am informed by the organisers that unlike the VLM your race pack can be collected by someone else so you will need to be able to pick it up from the Excel Centre, my brother-in-law won't do that for you!

Cost is £48.

Website address has changed so more info here:

Is there any interest in riding together as a group?  Personally I'm not racing it, will just be nice to get round and not die.  Guess it depends if the wave start is pre-determined or you just show up when you fancy it between 6:00 and 8:00.

Hi Neil.....I'd need to move things around that weekend but I'd like to do the ride so please put my name in the hat. Thanks
Neil, pop my name in the hat please. I missed out on the ballot for this so cheers for posting the space.
