Hi Guys,

If this website is accurate the Serpentine lido is closing on 12 Sep, so I'm considering trying to get out of work early on Tues 11th to have a swim there as it's the closest thing to being in the manky waters of the Docklands on 23 Sep!!

It closes at 6pm though so for a decent swim would probably need to get to Knightsbridge tube no later than 5pm....

Anyone fancy it?

There are quite a few open water lakes to swim in as well, although most are out by Heathrow and best to get to with a car.  We usually swim there on a Saturday morning, but they do evening sessions as well.  E.g. Thorpe Lake or Heron Lake, Bray Lake etc

Hello,

Are you still planning a swim tomorrow? I think I need one last open water test run before London..

I can probably get away from work just after 4, will wear my windrush cap so I can be spotted!

I'm going to Tooting lido now instead of the Serpentine as don't think I'll get out early enough to go there.

Probably aiming for 6.15pm swim - my cousin is a member so can get me in the 'tradesman's entrance'!! If you like I can ask if he would mind smuggling two of us in?!

Haha, as much as I like the idea of sneaking in to Tooting I think I will still head to the Serp. It's nice and close to my work and I think I need to stretch out the legs over 100m. I'm also going to test out the new tri-suit.. it's getting exciting now!
