Hi all,

I'm a bit of a planner, and as the race season is rapidly approaching, I'm looking at routes to the Thames Turbo Races (yes I know, already).  I was wondering if anyone who's done it before has any advice on the best way to get there, and a recommended time to arrive?

I live in Clapham...

Cheers ears

I am doing the first one, but have no idea about it!

Hi Lou,

I raced this last year and will be racing race 1, 2 and 3 this year :-)  I would recommend driving there and will be offering a ride.  Laura has booked one spot in my car and I have room for 1 or 2 more, bikes can go on the roof rack of my car.

There is a very good FAQ that you can download from here - http://www.thamesturbo.com/race-series/senior-race-series/faq

I have also attached the race pack from last year for you.  There are one or two changes this year, timing chips being one of them, but I highly doubt the race course has changed.

Transition and registration is open from 6am to 6:30.  Race start at 6:45.  I was planning to leave at around 5am, should take 35-45minutes to get there.

Hope that helps!

Gosh, thanks Michael for all the info and the offer of the ride.  I have some transport lined up, so I should be ok there.  Top tip on the timing.

I'll have a look at all that lovely literature :) you're too kind

Hi Michael - is the 1st one the 9th April one? If so, could I get a lift with you?

Thanks

Helen

It is the 9th April :)

I did this last year and although I can't remember too much about exact times you had to get there really early as you don't get too long to register.

I would be really grateful for a lift too, if that's OK, Michael.  Happy to chip in for petrol etc.

Thanks,

Mike

Helen, Mike - you're more than welcome :-) we can arrange a meeting up point closer to the date :-)

excellent - thanks :)

Yes, thank you Michael.  That would be brilliant!

Hi guys, the new race pack is out.. Transition has changed this year. Thinking about a meeting point. Where would be easiest to meet in the morning?

Is the lido convenient?

H

Good call, thanks Michael!
