Hi All,
Over the past year, Tony and I have been responsible to getting these rides together and a ride leader in place so we can see the countryside, get fit and generally be better cyclists! However, we've struggled a little over the past few weeks/months due to racing, holidays, injuries etc. To keep these rides moving (excuse the pun), we need a little help.
We're looking for some keen members (ideally 4/5) to help us out with the led Sunday rides. What we're looking for is a commitment of one Sunday each month (depending on numbers) to lead one of the rides. We're after people of all abilities as the usual pattern of rides includes Richmond Park sessions, and then anywhere between 60-120km rides, varying each weeks.
We'd give you some advice on how to go about leading these rides, prepare routes (normally one of the usual ones), and more often than not, be on them with you. What we want to do as a club is involve the members a little more to help the club continue to run, and grow. You don't need to be the best cyclist, just be able to commit the time and have a sensible head.
If you feel like you'd like to help out, or would just like some more information, just post below or DM me and we can have a chat.
Any questions - feel free to get in touch.

I need to refine my consistence in the pace and my knowledge on the routes.

Hi Lee,
Yeah I'm happy to help out also but have the same two concerns as Francesco. The commitment might help me lose my Scottish tightness and buy a bike computer!!
Permalink Reply by Lee Randle on October 16, 2012 at 17:12 Dont worry about things like that - we'll go over some 'training' etc and general best practices.
Permalink Reply by Claire Stagg on October 17, 2012 at 0:13 I don't mid leading some slower/medium-paced rides but I only really know the route for the one we did last week!
Permalink Reply by Francesco S on October 17, 2012 at 6:05 I know only that one too... I really like the variation we did with Tony, the one a bit more hilly.
Hi guys,
I'm happy to put my name forward to lead once a month.

I'll give it a few more days to see who else steps forward, and then we should probably meet to talk through the process/dates/routes/paces. I'll be in touch!
