Need to work on my core strength and could do with a stretch - but- yoga or pilates?

And can anyone recommend a class in our area (if the Windrush yoga sessions aren't going to run again)?

Thanks!

Clapham Chasers do a 'core session' on a Monday night 8:15

At Nuffield Health Gym (Battersea)

£3 to members might be your best bet

I wish we could run our Pilates sessions again...I loved them!!  But there just wasn't enough interest.  I know Deborah went to a place called Yoga Haven in Clapham and loved it...

There's also http://www.southlondonpilates.co.uk/index.htm in Streatham .... I haven't been but am planning to go to the next set of classes. They've also got a run/cycle specific workshop on the 25th

I would be keen for this!

The lido do a variety of yoga sessions, although none are triathlon specific.

I've just heard back from South London Pilates, and the run/cycle specific pilates workshop is £45 (inc. a thera-band and stretch hand-out), it runs at 11 am - 1.30 pm. All their contact details are on their site

If you're not worried about triathlon specific, Hot Bikram Yoga in Balham & London Bridge do a really good 20 day introductory pass for £35. Really good value.

I use ESPH in East Dulwich which is superb for Machine based Pilates. You can purchase a block and although it is expensive it is amazing.

I am working on trying to get a deal with them for a group class and will take it to the committee once I have an answer.

Thanks for all the advice!

So, went to the workshop in Streatham at the weekend which was good.

Have to admit I'm a bit nervous about machine based pilates. Only just found out about it but am unsure if it us better than mat based pilates?

Thinking of trying the Yoga Haven in Clapham as beginners can do both the hot yoga and astanga sessions.

Hi Anna,

I have been a student of Jo Palosaari's for almost 6 years now, I think she's brilliant and she recently introduced the pilates ring into her mat routines which is incredibly challenging.

Its based in Norbury, but if you're going to Streatham you maybe happy to travel a bit further? I started going to her classes when she was in Pimlico and I lived around the corner... I've never found a better teacher and her classes are reasonably priced £30 for a book of 6 tickets.

With all of my training its her classes that I never miss. She's excellent. You'll have to excuse the naf website though ;)
